CNIPA Holds Open Day EventOn April 24, ahead of the 26th World Intellectual Property (IP) Day, the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) held its Open Day Event for the 21st consecutive year. CNIPA Commissioner Shen Changyu attended the event and delivered remarks. In his speech, Shen introduced the basic functions of CNIPA and the latest progress in IP work. He noted that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), CNIPA has thoroughly studied and implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions and instructions on IP, earnestly implemented the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee, successfully completed the first-phase goals of the Outline for Building an Intellectual Property Powerhouse (2021-2035) and all tasks set forth in the 14th Five-Year National Plan for Intellectual Property Protection and Application, and achieved new progress in the development of China's IP sector. He expressed the hope that the Open Day Event would help the public gain a deeper understanding of the development of China's IP sector, contributing wisdom and strength to building China into a strong IP powerhouse. At the event, relevant departments of CNIPA released a number of typical cases from 2025 involving administrative IP protection, patent reexamination and invalidation, and trademark opposition review. Fifteen sub-venues were connected to the main venue via video link for presentations. CNIPA Deputy Commissioner Rui Wenbiao presided over the main venue event. Huang Yuhong, Party Secretary and General Manager of the China Mobile Research Institute (CMRI), delivered remarks as a guest representative. Officials from relevant CNIPA departments, as well as representatives from innovative entities, service institutions, universities, and news media attended the event. During the event, participants also visited the IP culture exhibition hall, the IP service hall, the patent reexamination and invalidation hearing court, patent examination departments, and the IP-themed reading space of CNIPA.
